Recreational Opportunities

Lake McClure's and Lake McSwain's recreational spots range from 400 to 1000 feet in elevation in beautiful pine and oak woodland backgrounds. Nestled in the scenic Sierra Nevada foothills of Central California. Located just below the magnificent Yosemite National Park in Mariposa, these meticulously-maintained, multi-feature recreational settings are owned and operated by the Merced Irrigation District.

Two great lakes and five great recreational parks offer many miles of shoreline to explore. Ideal camping facilities at Horseshoe Bend, recreational vehicle amenities and picnicking facilities are also adjacent to the lakes. Wildlife flourish along the scenic shoreline. You'll see deer, raccoon an fox roaming the water's edge while eagles and hawks soar above.

These lakes offer fishing, boating, picnicking, camping, water skiing and house-boating.
