The Overland is not, in fact, a hotel. It is one of the best dining experiences you can have in the sleepy town of Gardnerville, Nevada. Nevada has a strong Basque history, and this restaurant carries on that proud rustic tradition. Perhaps the Basque people felt so at home in Nevada because of our proud ranching tradition, or perhaps it was because their hearty cooking and family centric meals fit right in with the people of Nevada.
Generous staff and generous portions are a way of life at the Overland. The traditional meal includes wine, soup or stew of the day, salad, fries, beans or rice, an entree and dessert. Items are served family style, with steaming tureens brought to the table alongside heaping plates of salad and homemade French fries. Entree choices range from lamb, beef, and chicken to shrimp and fish all perfectly cooked to order.
