One of the oldest resorts in the Sierra Nevada. Plasse's was established in 1853 by a spirited young French immigrant, Ramón Pierre Plasse, and soon became home to his lovely wife, Louise. It was first operated as a trading post along the Carson Emigrant Trail and then as a resort until today. Plasse's is located at the South end of Silver Lake along scenic Hwy 88 with spectacular views of Silver Lake and Thunder Mountain.
