Nestled on a mountain stream in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, just minutes from the south gate to Sequoia National Park is the Sequoia River Dance Bed and Breakfast. Here you will find the Giant Forest with the biggest trees in the world and abundant wildlife, as well as world class hiking, kayaking, fishing, spelunking, alpine skiing, and star gazing.
Three Rivers is a diverse community with everybody from cowboys and ranchers, artists, and old hippies. The Jazz Affair music festival is held in April, and art galleries and festivals are enjoyed throughout the year.
The South Fork of the Kaweah River is in our backyard. The Kaweah River flows from the high Sierras into Lake Kaweah, (there's good fishing there), just a mile or two from the bed and breakfast. The main fork of the Kaweah runs through the center of Three Rivers and is excellent for river rafting in the spring and early summer.
The Sequoia National Park visitor centers and museums include information about the giant trees, history, geology and year-round activities.
Bed and Breakfast Style
Comfortable and casual country setting with five guest rooms, two day rooms, and plenty of deck and patio space to enjoy the outdoors. A country breakfast is served fireside at the harvest table or on one of the patios next to the river. Breakfast might include a quiche, a frittata, French toast, or a Dutch baby pancake, sausages, fresh fruit, scones, coffee and teas. Vegetarian and vegan menus are also available.
The most popular common areas of the bed and breakfast are the patios and decks near the river. These offer beautiful, expansive views of the Kaweah River and the Sierra Nevada foothills in the distance--excellent for bird watching. In the cooler months, the fireplaces in the day room and the dining room are warm and inviting.
The house, built in the 1970s, was formerly a convent, and home to the Catholic order of The Daughters of Charity. We "converted" it to a bed and breakfast when we purchased it in 2004. The room that was used as their "chapel" has a beautiful view of the river. Now our library, this peaceful room provides a very special place for reflection and meditation for ourselves and our guests.

The home is well built and energy efficient, and recycling is routine. Guest amenities are offered in larger dispensers rather than the small plastic containers. Environmentally friendly cleaning supplies are always preferred.
Locally or Family Owned Business Notes
We, Dan and Sharon Bullene, have owned and operated a successful restaurant, and most recently, a winery. The winery, Bullene Vineyards, here in Three Rivers, grew two Italian varietals, Sangiovese and Malvasia. But our favorite estate grown grape was Carmine, a genetically engineered hybrid developed by Dr. Olmo at U.C. Davis. This grape makes a wine that is very red, and very rich.
Our family members are lovers of food and wine, and music. Our restaurant in Visalia offered all of these, including classical flamenco guitar during the dinner hour and live jazz after hours.
These days our focus is to offer the best country breakfast, served fireside at our harvest table, or outdoors on a patio by the river.
