Tahoe State Recreation Area has 27 family campsites that can accommodate tents and motor-homes up to 24' in length. The campground is located along the shore of Lake Tahoe, and within the town of Tahoe City for convenience. Campers can walk right from their campsites throughout the entire quaint town of Tahoe City, where they can access shops, restaurants, a library, a post office, a laundry mat and a marina. The proximity to conveniences makes this small campground very popular! The campground has a pier and water access for swimming, fishing, and kayaking.

Susan retired after a 29 year career as a park ranger and park superintendent with the National Park Service and California State Parks. She served as the superintendent of the Lake Tahoe area State Parks from 2006-2012. In retirement, she volunteers her time as a Board Member of the non-profit Sierra State Parks Foundation. She loves to spend time in nature... camping, hiking, and simply soaking in the beauty.
